Hi, my name is Nathan Sharon. I am the Pastor at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. On the side, I also serve as the Baptist Collegiate Ministry Director at College of the Ozarks. My wife, Betty, also supports me in these roles, being very involved in our ministries. Our baby girl, Sophia, she’s just an attention hog. Everyone absolutely loves her!
Betty and I both graduated from College of the Ozarks in 2021. She received her degree in Family Studies and Social Work (as well as two minors, one in Psychology and the other in Biblical & theological studies…she’s incredible!). She is also working on her Master of Theological Studies in Biblical counseling from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
I received my degree in Biblical & theological studies, and then moved on to receive my Master of Divinity from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. I do aspire at some point to begin working on a PhD, but that would require me getting over the terror of that first.
Prior to coming to PGBC, I was blessed to receive extensive training at the hands of faithful churches and pastors. Pastoral internships have formed the foundation of my understanding of pastoral ministry, and I am so excited to now start giving back to the kingdom through the role of pastor.
Sophia is our little bobcat! Whenever we bring her to Church or our weekly BCM gatherings, she seems to have all the attention, all the time. And she likes it that way.
Pleasant Grove Baptist Church officially hired me as their pastor on September 1, 2025. Ever since then, we have been having the time of our lives. It is our greatest desire to serve the people of the surrounding regions helping them come to know God. We are excited to see how the Lord intends to use us to further His Kingdom!
